No his podcast is what drives his career. Those are the people that see his standup and buy his merchandise.
His podcast would be completely traction less without the UFC make him a name. He knows where his bread is buttered and all of his popularity stems from his announcer gig

At one point, maybe, not anymore.

The vast majority of his podcast audience are fans of his comedy(not MMA) which is why the majority of his guest are comedians.

I know that you're normally wrong about everything but this time I actually think you're right!
Rogan has built a big enough fan base that he could leave and be just fine, but he wont

Kbeezy is correct. Rogan w/o the UFC platform would still be doing standup spots and getting 1500 for a weekend on the road instead of selling out theatres the night before a UFC PPV.
Kbeezy... watched a few of your fights last night, you're still UFC caliber. You're comfortable out there, elusive, don't get wild and sloppy and bring a load w/ that jab, the kicks and when you get a chance to unload the right, goodnight.
Hope to see you back on the big stage if you want it.

Thanks!
I agree that he has certainly made good use of his spotlight to push his career outside of the UFC, but I think he following might fade if he fell from the limelight.
There are comedians that he put on and made famous just because of their association with him. Joe rogan says this guy is funny, he gets nice gigs and specials.
I think a lot of that power would fade. I once went to a show before a UFC fight in Vegas and he invited everyone from the weigh in (fans) and had a little spot on the side reserved for fighters. Place packed out with ufc fans who became Joe Rogan fans because of his openness with the fans of that sport. It was almost like the fans had something in common with this comedian unrelated to comedy so they were fans of him no matter what he was talking about
He was funny as hell too btw
