Was Aldo not the real deal?

Aldos camp is something like 1-7 or 0-8 since new drug testing. Aldo looked smaller too.

Rda is the real deal with size. McGregors biggest strength and size is his size...his power would still be awesome but against someone bigger not automatic ko

Just looking at the 195 card. Poirier vs Duffy is on Fight Pass.

Looks like Blackzillians is disbanding.

The Reebok deal ultimately killed clothing brand Jaco which is what was funding the team

Is the Golden Age of MMA about to be over?

I mentioned when the Reebok deal was announced that the UFC's Hubris and greed would be their downfall.

Cutting out the secondary markets that supported most of their fighters may prove to be a fatal mistake. These guys that fight for $6-12K a pop and then only $2500 in sponsor money aren't making enough to do anything more than barely get by.

Like everything, it's good at the top and a struggle everywhere else. Limiting the ways your fighters can earn money is not a good business move.

Speaking of... What about Overeem!!!!! Didn't even look like the same dude. Looked like he has lost tons of muscle. I guess the UFC is just now cleaning itself up? Crazy.

The effects of the Reebok deal have yet to hit past a couple of mid-level guys retiring or going to Bellator when their contracts were up.

One FC has announced its new weigh-in standards. Looks pretty good. Hope it is successful. It would be great to see guys fighting each other at their peak physical performance, not 24 hours after a grueling weight cut.

GENERAL REGULATIONS & POLICIES

RELATED TO ATHLETES’ WEIGHT

1. Athletes must submit their current walking weight and daily training weight regularly. Athletes will input and track their daily weight online via a dedicated web portal. Athletes may input data weekly but must include daily weights.

2. Athletes will be assigned to their weight class based on collated data and random weight checks. Athletes are not allowed to drop a weight class when less than 8 weeks out from an event.

3. During fight week, weights are checked daily. Urine specific gravity will also be checked the day after arrival and 3 hours prior to the event. Athletes must be within their weight class and pass specific gravity hydration tests all week and up to 3 hours before the event. If an athlete falls outside the weight, or fails a test, they are disqualified from the event. Doctors may request additional testing at their discretion.

4. Catch weight bouts are allowed. However, the athlete with the higher weight will not be heavier than 105% of the lighter opponent’s weight.

5. ONE will conduct random weight checks on athletes at our discretion.

6. Athletes may petition to change weight classes outside of the 8-week competition zone and must be within their new desired weight at that time. In addition, athletes must pass a specific gravity urine test when their weight is within the limits of the newly petitioned weight class. ONE doctors can request additional testing to determine the amount of weight drop allowed over a specific time.

7. The usage of IVs for the purpose of rehydration will not be allowed.

Overage and limits of weight reduction:

· 3 weeks to event day: Athlete must be within contracted weight class

· 4 weeks: 1.5% bodyweight over max

· 5 weeks: 3%

· 6 weeks: 4.5%

· 7 weeks: 6%

· 8 weeks: +6% max over.

(ONE Chief Doctor may approve up to +/- 0.5% maximum error in any weekly weight check)

Bout time this fight happens.

Hopefully Silva destroys him. I always wanted to see them fight but Bisping just couldn't make it past the top guys to get a title shot.

Interesting.

gotta be no less than 6% above weight when they start their camps, or the beginning of the 8 week competition period.

UFC had some pretty shady rules, these policies by One FC are probably a good start, the density of urine is one I'd like to see how the Brazilians find ways to beat. Too much water to flush substances will get you popped, cutting water weight too early will get you popped.

This is a good start to natural weight classes and performance.

Those rules are ridiculous and unnecessary.

You can simply have more weigh ins
-45 day 10% off weight
-30 day 7% off weight
-15 day 5% off weight
-7 day 3% off weight
-1 day on weight

It's typical over reaction to a tragedy.

First, Dukes of Hazard and now weight cutting
