That's cool that YOU would but scouts wouldn't.

Good thing pro scouts have nothing to do with who fits the college game better.

Who said anything about pro's? Doughty is the better qb. Stop sticking up for Dak just because we played him the first game nad he's in the SEC. He's a good qb but he is not better than Doughty.

You let me know when he gets Heisman pub and plays anything resembling a decent team.

Seriously, when this guy, whose name I'm not even bothering to remember, does nothing tomorrow, will you come back and say "perhaps I was a bit hyperbolic?"

I hope coach Steele and coach Raymond have these guys prepared for wheel routes , back shoulders, hitch routes, go routes, fades, pick plays , slants , crosses, flag routes , posts and bombs. Did I leave anything out ?

Well, I guess if you're just trying to list all general receiver routes, you covered most of it.

I see another poster added screens.

Ooh.. This feels like one of those games where I have to answer something to keep the game going. I'll add:

1) the out route / quick out route.
2) the in route / drag route
3) the seam route (understanding that a seam route can resemble a post or something else depending on where the seam in the defense is).

... and I'm gonna go one step further and name a specific play: 82 Sluggo (might be 82 stay sluggo z win, or similar depending on a given team's terminology and personnel group)... No idea if, or how much, WKU runs it, but I kind of like saying "82 sluggo"... and it's worth noting that it was a Sluggo Slant & Go variation that U of Kentucky used to beat LSU in overtime in 2007.

I'm not personally worried. I have zero impact on the game.

Is the secondary concerned, I am sure they are. But has the wku qb seen an athletic and physical defensive line like ours. I'm not sure but I will say no. I think we put the heat on him early and let our overall athleticism overwhelm them physically and mentally.

This is a game where a little bit of rain might be just what the doctor ordered. Much harder, obviously, to throw in the wet than to run the ball.

Uhhh... You? Did you not bring up scouts and draft boards?

I don't give a flying frick about Dak or the SEC. frick both of 'em as far as I'm concerned. But the fact is he's proven to be a great college QB while playing in the best conference in the nation. I don't see what's so hard to understand about this.

I have never seen an OOC opponent get so hyped on this board

They wouldnt be getting this much hype if our DBs hadn't been playing like hot garbage on and off over the course of the season.
If we clean up a little in the secondary, we should shut these guys down.

We will sack him 6 times and pick him off three because he does not have the ability to scramble.

WKU will have no idea what to do with our D line. Tom Brady and his quick release isn't playing us Saturday to my knowledge. There is a much greater likelihood of this being very ugly for WKU than there is of this guy making a game out of it.

I'm just trying to understand why so many people think Western Kentucky is going to come into our house and pass all over us. Is it because we allowed 335 to Dak to start the year? That performance has greatly inflated our average.

I expect a performance similar to our other OOC games. Around 160 yards and one or two scores depending on field position. Do people really think this guy is going to come in here and do much better than that?

Dak is a better runner but not as good a passer. Our DBS have underperformed since they have given yards against multiple 2nd string qbs or even worse . Out of position DBS will be made to pay for their mistakes . Count on it!

Taking away Dak and Treon (who started several SEC games might I add), we're giving up an average 156 yards/game through the air. Sure, they've let a couple big plays go, but let's not act like teams are just moving left and right on us all game.

Anyone willing to make a ban bet regarding this? I refuse to believe yall actually believe WKU is going to light us up.

Well the problem is we've made a few QBs who are no where near as skilled as this guy look like world-beaters in our early games.

If we sack this guy early and rattle his cage, we should be fine. AND, find a way not to get out of position in the secondary for crying out loud.

Who? Dak is good and got lots of yards in our first real game and had to throw 54 times to do it.

After him, we gave up 100, 154, 161, 209, and 271 to Treon. Who has looked like a world beater?
