Imagine that, Putin is in the neighborhood. Watch Syria contest some of the oil rights.

Syria has been contesting the Golan Heights since 1967. I imagine Israel's response won't be changing anytime soon.

Besides at this point it won't be Assad contesting the rights but ISIS.

Geologists in companies don't talk publicly about new finds, certainly not if the company's stock is traded on US exchanges. Huge no no.

The way he said it was also VERY misleading to those not familiar with petroleum reserves. That's why I say that. This shite doesn't usually happen by accident.

Why? With all the money we've given them we can just take it under the assumption we've paid for it.

I think kosher oil may command a higher price.

I figure the global Jewish community will have to switch to kosher gasoline only.

I agree that it was extremely vague and made many people believe it was an industry altering find.

Hence why I asked about porosity and perm.

I guess that was my "give me all the details" side kicking in.

Great, does this mean the US doesn't have to funnel any more money to them?

ENI in Egypt just had a HUGE discovery as well.

Its not so much finding the oil and finding someone to sell it to.

For example Kazakhstan has enormous reserves (Kashagan) but has had trouble producing it and geographically is in a bad place to try and run a pipe line to Europe.

With all the new sources of oil being discovered, won't this increase in supply continue to send prices down?

f the reserve is as big as they think, the ME will be kissing Israel's arse

Can someone who is more knowledgable put this in context for us? What kind of reserves are we talking about here? How many millions of barrels? How does it compare to let's say Saudi Arabia's reserves or Canadian Oil Sands for example?

why don't you enlighten me? I read the economist and foreign policy. I studied history in college. I don't see what israel having a shite load of oil would all of a sudden cause the ME to start kissing their arse. If anything it will make most Arabs even more pissed off and jealous at Israel. Not that they can do anything about it. Israel kicked their arse in 67 and would kick their asses today.

Who the hell knows? If I tell you that I measured a water body in one spot, and the place I measured it is six feet deep, can you tell me how much water is in it? Of course not. All you have is one data point. It could be Toledo Ben or it could be a posthole. You can't know.

This is far, far more complicated than that, and all you have is hearsay about one data point.

wasn't a bit of truth to peak oil

if they say there's a problem?! then they made it all up......they don't have the capacity to tell us the truth...
