Until we get rid of the Levee Board, the Causeway Commission, the Bridge Police and all these other lame-arse entities, IDC about the pilots.

At least they actually do work.

Right. that's been a family thing for as long as there have been river pilots. no one but family gets in.

Not necessarily true. They have made a lot of non-family member pilots in the last 10 years. Even have made some women as pilots in that same timespan.

When I lived in the warehouse district my neighbor Malcom was a Bar Pilot, made tons of money, worked a little and smoked a lot of dope.

Nice gig if you can get it.

I've been trying to find a list of single legal aged daughters of river pilots since I was in highschool. Haven't found it yet

Sounds like the blue collar neanderthals found a way to get rich.

Also talk of this industry holding a serious torch to nepotism. With all of that money why not "make sure" your kids get into the best schools in the country and have a truly better life?

(Like a life on the west coast.)

Uh, they drive a boat like 4 miles in a river that's a mile wide. Nobody will ever convince me it's that fricking hard.

Depression is a serious thing. You may want to consult with your primary physician before moving forward with him to find the right psychiatrist.
