One of my neighbors is a Bar Pilot and so is his son. Works about 5-7 days a month. Last name Perez. Figure that one out.

There is no sort of about it. You generally have to be born into it and no entity in this state can even think about touching them.

While the Hyperbole is comical. The whole "operators are overpaid compared to work performed" is indisputable.

The barriers to entry to become a River Boat Pilot should be criminal.

The Perez's run Plaquemines Parish and St Bernard Parsh, they are like the mafia down there...hence where a lot of the Pilots are from...


ever heard of Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette??
