For my 12 year old son. Avid hunter. Very safety conscious. Shoots 7 mag for deer and hogs. Handles his guns with confidence. Looking to get him a shotgun for birds, rabbits, etc....
Choices I have narrowed down...
Franchi Affinity 12ga 28" Max-5 camo
Beretta A300 Outlander 12ga 28" Max-5 camo
Stoeger M3000 12ga 28" Max-5 camo
Looked at pump shotguns, but the 2 I liked only came in 3 1/2". (Remington 870 Express Super Mag Waterfowl Camo and Benelli Super Nova)
TIA!!

I have the 3500 and couldn't be happier. I once made a lot of high end shotgun owners look silly at a skeet shoot with it.

That's good to hear. Thinking about getting one myself

Y'all care any stoeger's?

I have the affinity and like it. Doesn't have the bells and whistles but I haven't had a single issue shooting it.

Except get the black. I opted for the wood/blued version because I liked the weight and balance of the wood forend. The synthetic felt hollow and didn't swing right for me.
The gun shoots like a dream, 1000 rounds out of the box with a variety of loads from 7/8 to 1 1/8 and not one hiccup. But as most reviews will tell you, the finish on the barrell leaves something to be desired.
I plan to get mine ceracoated after waterfowl season and looking at forend options.

Out of your choices, I like the Stoeger.

havent used a 12 ga for rabbits in 40 years see if you can find Ithaca featherweight 20 ga - easy to swing - can carry all day and loads from bottom keeps twigs dirt out of mechanism -too light for ducks but more than capable for everything else

They will shoot smaller shells & when he gets bigger them 3 1/2" is some duck & turkey killing machines

I bought an A300 a few years ago when they first came out. It's been great, it shoots every time I pull the trigger. No issues at all.

You know those guns will shoot 2 3/4" and 3" also right?

Affinity. Ran many shells through mine in nasty weather/conditions. Never has let me down.

when benelli bought them and i was poor, this was a good option for me and it worked out. I figured it would last a couple of years and i would upgrade, but i have yet to need an upgrade (knock on wood)
