Let Harris make mistakes and learn from them

I'd rather lose because of turnovers and mental errors than playing not to lose. Protecting Harris is doing him no favors. You cannot hide on 3rd and medium in the SEC. Asking him to throw and make plays is imminent and the approach yesterday helped zero with his development. This must change.

This is why letting him take his lumps last year would have been huge.

Uhhuh, sure you would. You and all the rest of the idiots would be screaming for blood if we lose a game on a pick 6.

Basically you're saying you would rather lose than win......Whos side are you on? This is seriously the dumbest post I've seen so far.

i agree with their approach of protecting him as much as they can, but they'll need to realize that once brandon's comfortable in a game situation, then the leash needs to come off.

felt as if there was no point that brandon was not comfortable last night. he was in control, played within himself and didn't force anything. the run that he had (when clapp committed the unnecessary holding penalty) was a thing of beauty.

that's what was so perplexing about last night. I can understand holding back if you had a qb that was struggling all game and was afraid to make another mistake.

but brandon had yet to make his first one in that game...

Wait so you would rather lose to Miss State for a 2nd year in a row instead of winning? I get what you are saying about opening up the offense, but WE F**KING WON LAST NIGHT!

Actually it is. He lead his team to a win on the road vs a top 25 SEC West opponent. The builds confidence and lets him know that his team can help support him. That will give him the confidence to open it up and not be afraind of making turnovers later on in the season when we actually need him to.

So you would have rather lost last night because of a pick6 than win the way we did?

Let Harris make mistakes against McNeese, not on the road in a division game

I'd rather let him make those mistakes against Eastern Michigan and Syracuse when we are going to win anyway

I disagree with you. Developing a new QB is both physical and mental. It is important to slowly build his confidence and his playbook. Remember the Jamie Howard situation back in the 90's. That Auburn game ruined that guy as a QB. from that game forward, he had no confidence and it showed on the field.

Harris got his doors blown off last year against Auburn. LSU cannot afford for him to take another beat down like that.

Last weeks game was about getting Harris reps and letting him mistakes, last nights game was about getting the W. We did that, barely.

I truly believe that once he gets a few starts under his belt, the game will slow down for him.

I'd rather not do what you're saying and win.
