Overall, the report says, all-male teams and crews outperformed mixed-gender ones on 93 out of 134 tasks evaluated. All-male teams were universally faster “in each tactical movement.”

I'm actually surprised that the ratio was this low.

What I would also like for a fully authentic study is to see is the results of female only tests. I would think those would be higher than the gender mixed as well honestly.

Well the women were less accurate...
quote:

All-male 0311 (rifleman) infantry squads had better accuracy compared to gender-integrated squads. There was a notable difference between genders for every individual weapons system (i.e. M4, M27, and M203) within the 0311 squads, except for the probability of hit & near miss with the M4.

And more prone to injury...
quote:

The report also says that female Marines had higher rates of injury throughout the experiment.

So I'd say trying to create all female infantry squads would only make things even worse.

There were several sandwich making and bitching/complaining/moaning tasks assessed.

If you read the article, there were several exercises that gave the Mixed Gender teams a distinct advantage: Rescue exercises where the women were basically casualties and had to be carried out of there, for instance. The women were signficantly lighter for the men to carry, therefore the squad did better.

Which is pretty damn stupid.

Eh, it depends on what the training is but but I've seen other sorts of training with mixed units and they've found that women with women perform better and men and men togeather perform better than men and women.

An all-female squad would perform about as well as my son's 3rd grade class.

Fine. Let them be in combat support units and leave combat arms alone.

Honestly that is likely but that's why you have to test it.

Women are better tank shields.

So, what you are saying is, it is actually advantageous to have women in combat units because it will be easier to carry them when they get wounded?

Well, that supports having female troopers.

There's no reason for women to be in the military at all. They do nothing but spread disease and lower discipline. They are an inefficient source of labor.
