I think there's also a top youth scout bonus you can buy with XP in the game. I could be wrong about that, though.

The only time it acts up for me (fricks me) is when I'm being hit on a counter attack. Trying to switch to the guy in the best position to defend and often times it switches me to the closest guy. Problem is, these are usually two center backs and the runner is in the middle of them. Switching to the wrong guy just parts the Red Sea, because the direction you're needing to go with one guy is the opposite of the other.

This is one of my biggest gripes with this game. Not sure if trying to get good at right stick switching would help.

What setting do y'all use for switching, the one where your guy keeps going in the same direction for a bit or the one where you get total control immediately?

Fastest player ever on FIFA and he still gets hawked down by fullbacks. I wish they would figure out how to implement pace. Last year it was too overpowered and this year it is too watered down. A guy with 82 pace should never catch up to and tackle a guy with 99 pace though if he is running in a straight line behind him and doesn't have an angle. Frustrating as hell

I was complaining about this a few pages back. You have to use the right stick to knock the ball ahead. I've had a lot more success with that. But I agree that it's stupid how these slow CBs routinely chase down guys like Auba.

I mean they don't cost that much and there's only 3 allowed You could always buy a few high potential youth guys already in the game and groom them. Idk what's it's like with financial takeover for a small club, but a medium/large club will get you a 130 million budget

League One and Two transfer budgets are usually less than a million pounds when you play on strict budget. Top scouts cost a million +

Also thinking about starting another manager mode with a league 2 side. I'm thinking probably Cambridge United bc they are a local team to this area. Then I want to use some of my xp to unlock the financial take over by a billionaire perk. Kick is im not going to use the money to get all the best players on big wages and just run through every division until I get to the prem. I'm going to use the money to invest in the best youth player scouts and just load my academy up and play the kids in league two and league one turning them into beast by the time I make it to the big time.

I've seen some guys do a Youth Player Manager Mode. They simulate through the first season, only scouting youth players. Then do the 2nd season using only the players they've scouted.

one of the few things I like about PES better than FIFA, stats actually mean something.

Secured promotion with Mallorca on the last match of March despite some inconsistent results (2-2-0) in last 4

Andre Silva has come on very strong after a mediocre start. 20 year old, 71 rated striker on loan from Porto

Just got the Div 2 Title in Seasons, but man, that shite was tough late. Suddenly, I was hitting the crossbar on every single shot. It's just strange behavior at times, man.

i've started to notice that first touch is a way that can frick you. sometimes you can't handle the ball for shite, and i play with a spanish squad with mid-80s midfielders (i'm trying to use less pace so i'm 4-2-3-1 with 3 AMs, none fast) and they can't even handle soft passes from each other some games. the most dangerous thing you can do is lose the ball in the midfield in transition and that's what happens over and over again.

The 'Scout future star' purchase is not a sure thing. In my experience (I'm like a 127 rank in EAFC so I have almost everything unlocked) the most expensive one will net you the best player. The cheaper ones have never ended up being above an 85 for me and always seem to be a player that doesn't have physical stats, speed, agility and what not.

It's fun to use just to see what you may get, but don't count fully on getting a player with 91-95 potential.

ETA: Also, you can only redeem a 'scout future player' ONCE. And you can't redeem multiple ones at a time. It only allows you to redeem one per season. If you redeem four, then you'll get one and three more over the next three seasons.

that part is rigged. has to be momentum based. my guilty pleasure is watching the after match replays of balls going off the crossbar. the sound is so bad

It's gotten to the point to where I just have to create wide open chances with small dribble moves, fake shots, and tiny knock ons. Almost all of them are like this one I scored today: LINK

A little trick that's worked well for me...use a driven pass/one touch pass combo. Driven pass is lethal in this game when it's controlled, but bad dribblers can't control it. If you begin a regular pass with your receiver of the driven pass before he gets the ball, it works great. This requires quick thinking and a guy to be open to receive it, but the defense can't react.

Driven pass for a cross on the box is amazing. First touch shot on goal... Just redirects it and uses the pace.

How is that different from triple x (low cross)? How do you do the driven cross?

I know what you mean. I've had stretches of 5+ games where I legit feel like I have to tiki taka in the box and fricking walk the ball into the net

which incidentally might be the most satisfying event in the game for me sans a bicycle kick goal from the top of the box off a corner. which I still have no idea how I did

Double tap is low cross, triple ground cross. To answer your question though, driven pass is going to be aimed where your guy is most of the time, ground cross is just going into the 6 yard box. If a player is moving, the driven pass isn't ideal in the box. If they're stationary its lethal
