I've done some light reading and still can't really come up with a definitive answer, but is there some trick to the timing of the double and triple? I feel like I schiz out any time I try to do it

Basically the same result. I have found the triple X is unreliable... I get varied results as sometimes the controller doesn't recognize all of the presses.

ok so explain this one

2 different cup matches, 2 different cups entirely. I play with two different squads, up 3-0 within the first 30 minutes. then bam, all of a sudden it's a D10 player against a Top 100 FIFA God. lose both games 5-3. the part I'm struggling to explain is the common competition.........

Liverpool.

come on man on the same day though? honestly I was audibly laughing the first time because I was playing with Dortmund and I figured that's karma. but then the same shite happened with Lyon and I almost broke my controller. as for me I've hit a rut. I had a lot of success moving to tiki taka but with the amount of high pressure guys I play I find myself unable to be patient anymore. I essentially start playing a counter attack, which is fine, but not in a narrow diamond. I'm just flip flopping wins and losses. I'm about to high pressure the frick out someone because I have 2 games left and need 6 points to get out D4 for the umpteenth time. after that I'm gonna focus on FUT for a while.

any tips for building your squad from the bottom? I had an awesome German squad on my old gen but I've literally forgotten how I built the team. I guess I just started with lower tier gold guys like Hermann and Volland and went from there but it seems overwhelming to try it again

I have around 12,000 coins. haven't even played through like 10% of my coin bonuses yet, but I don't have any players eligible for transfer

No BS---you can build an MLS squad for cheap as hell that can compete with anyone.

Giovinco might be the most OP player on the game relative to his rating. His acceleration, dribbling, and agility make him an absolute nightmare on the ball...it's like controlling a ball carrier in madden as opposed to FIFA. Put him in a formation that has a CAM and two strikers- Pair with Martens (pace and 5* weak foot) and either Dempsey/Dos Santos(heading/finishing) or David Villa (a second striker with 5* weak foot)

That gives you 3 bonafide attackers, and Castillo and Finlay give you pace on the wing or wide midfield. Oparra and Brooks is a good CB tandem. Put Howard at Keeper. You can build a an MLS squad that plays really really well. You can put Pirlo and Gerrard in midfield- Pirlo is the best passer on the game which is a huge rating in FUT- and Gerrard can score from range

My team right now is all black cards, a blue card, and a legend card. Hell I have 86 Christian Eriksen on my bench. My MLS squad played basically just as well as this one that's probably worth close to 2.5 million coins on the transfer market

I've had the most success with tika taka. I played gegenpressing for a while and it just doesn't work for me in division 3 and up. I pressure the offense when they get close to the midfield and take any transition opportunity to counter attack. When I'm in possession in the final third I tiki taka until I get a good shot, and I never pass up a good shot for a potential great shot unless the pass can't be missed. I've sank too many from 20 yards to pass up a good look, and given the ball away too many times in the box trying to make that last killer pass. Use the driven pass in the final third. You can unmark a marked attacker with a driven pass into the box

it's not that it stopped working for me so much as I stopped letting it work because I'm too ADD for this shite

and I meant more in terms of spending tips. I literally can't remember when I started buying players but I feel like I had around 60k before I started

oh and you can just call me champ from now on. Financed Wall are now Division 10 title winners

It's always helped me to tinker with a concept squad before I started buying, that way you can get your links and work rates right before you start actually buying

My girlfriend's little brother just got into the game and opened packs so I decided to shell out for a mega-pack.

I was #blessed enough to pack Andre Gray's Hero Card. I finally get a Hero card, and it's the FL Championship's best Hero card. I'm debating whether or not to sell him or try to fit him into a squad. The kid's got great stats, but I play a 4-1-2-1-2 and even with Vardy and Sterling around him, there aren't any good English CAMs that compete with Oscar or Payet without having to spend a ton or buy Rooney and ST>CF>CAM him.

EDIT: Decided to get one more, got CAM Barkley (and Marcelo, as well) so I have a full 10/10 chem squad. I'm hoping to sub in Payet/Oscar at half for a boost without the chem loss. If this goes alright, I may keep it going. If not, I'll sell him and build a La Liga squad since I have a pretty solid foundation for a La Liga starter squad in my club.

I regret doubting this young man. With Vardy, Sterling, and Barkley surrounding him to max chem, he was absolutely nasty. Quick, good finesse shots, gets in behind the backline well, etc. With Rooney at CAM, I think my squad would be somewhat "complete". Not too good rating wise to avoid any potential rubberbanding or nerfs, not too cheese/pace centric.

I'm going to regret turning my xbox off because I haven't lost a FUT game in like 8 matches so I'm sure my ELO rating is going to sky rocket. won the division 9 title at 4-1-0, the draw being the last game. like SFP said before, guys in the lower third of divisions playing with 80+ rated teams are there for a reason. either they're new, or just suck. I beat a guy with my 62ish rated 60ish chemistry(2 stars I think) 4-1 and I think his time was over 80, maybe high 70's with 100 chemistry. I shudder to think it might be a new player who literally bought that team in cash.

frankly I can't understand buying points. the game already cost 60 bucks, and half of the players can't afford 1st world Internet. anyone with even a basic understanding of math, and limited patience can build whatever squad they want without spending a dime

My rule is USUALLY that buying points is silly, but I absolutely NEVER buy packs with coins. I can spare the $10-12 I spent on the 2 mega-packs no problem. At worst, I quick sell most of it. At best, I get a decent/fun player. I've had good pack luck in the past (TIF Hazard and ton of sick players in FIFA14), but after FIFA14 and the frickery that goes on in FUT, I gave up packs pretty much completely. This year pretty much justified that choice after my pre-order packs were all garbage. If you're not buying points, packs should pretty much not even be considered.

That said, that Gray pull is the only reason I'm even going to push Div 1 in FUT this year so I regret nothing. It was fun to build a viable, full chem team around him. I went 27-6-1 in FUT Seasons to start, and then suddenly, my record was 29-7-37. If you've ever done math at any point in life, you can quickly Matt Damon the differences to see that I went 2-1-36 after winning my first 3 titles with ease (with a lot of forfeits because frick FIFA making me rage). After trying everything from running cables all over my home to sacrificing a goat to make FUT play normally, I just said frick it and pushed Div 1 in Seasons. I just evened my record out at 46-8-46 in FUT and got back to Div 7 after being relegated repeatedly.

As for beating high rated teams, I'm always glad when I'm up against a team rated higher because I rarely lose. I try to stay around 79-81 for that reason. These 83-84+ teams in the lower divisions who suck are just people who either bought coins or got lucky as shite on their packs. My FIFA14 Div 1 FUT squad was a shitty little Serie A squad that I threw together because all my others were playing like shite. I sold Falcao and bought the entire squad almost. That squad replaced my main squad that was like an 89 BPL squad and wrecked shite.

This right here is why I only player with teams like Leicester City that are 4-4.5* teams with a ton of talent. Still had nonsense, but nothing like FUT-level shenanigans. I genuinely believe the stat "rubberbanding" theory. There's no explanation as to why Leicester pushed me to Div 1 and my ramshackle BPL squad lead by a Championship player is running through everyone.

I truly believe there's something to the effect of you and your opponent's ELO ratings and team ratings being compared and normalized to make the game more "fun" for people who aren't great at it. I'm positive they alter variables to reduce the chance of people being slaughtered. If I get a red card somehow really early, I almost always win. If someone goes up 2-0 or 3-0 early, there's almost always a comeback (if the player isn't terrible).

For a while, I tried to convince myself that there were other rational explanations, but I'm just going to roll with the idea that the game constantly attempts to create parity so that shite players don't get crushed and quit playing and decent players don't get one squad and sit with it. Everything's designed to push points and packs. Same shite happens in Madden, NHL, and every other game that has some form of Ultimate Team.

Just finished my first season in Div 1 on FUT. Went 4-2-4 but honestly should've been 9-0-1. I only got outplayed once and that was in the first match of the season. The other 9 I had more shots on target and more possession than my opponent. I had 6 shots in the box saved in a matter of 4 seconds in one game

That's just FUT, man. 4 wins keeps you up, right? If not, I almost can guarantee you'll either win the Div 2 title or rock it in Div 1. It's almost like it tries to push you out of the new division until you scrap it out to stay in once you get past Div 5.

As for FUT, I just looked at the stats, and Gray's already my leader in goals and assists in 11 matches played. His stats really underrate how fast and strong he is, and the guy puts shots on goal in what feels like a millisecond. I've got him at the top of a 4-2-3-1(2) with Rooney at the CAM, Sterling and Walcott on the wings to keep chem full, and then damn near every City player and decent French BPL player filling out the rest.

If anyone gets a chance to try him out for cheap, Gray was tough to build around and keep mostly green links. Once I got that down, though, it's been all fun.
