My friends who do it free dive. That sounds much more enjoyable than scuba.

Started in 1979 and gave it up about 8 years ago. We had a great run. My hobby was to find stuff to dive in the gulf besides rigs. I found 4 ships I think were sunk during WWII by u-boats, numerous rock ledges loaded with fish and lobster, sunken shrimp boats, oil field tanks, and barges.

We visited SS, EI, and SMI fields running out of Morgan City or Burns Point boat landing.

Yeah, trying to hold my breath long enough to see a fish, shoot a fish, then get back to the surface before I die sounds much more enjoyable than being able to just breathe underwater? Breathing. . . underwater. . . sounds stressful.
