That really sums up the greatness that is our food, culture, etc., where would you bring them? They will be here for 4 days and it needs to be a very good (i.e. make them want to relocate here) impression.

ETA: They will be staying at the Omni Royal in New Orleans.

Based on your situation and time window (and excluding the novelty of Iowa, Louisiana) - The French Quarter, LSU on gameday, and Middendorf's.

Some alternates might be the South Carrolton area/Audubon/Garden District, a swamp tour (although they can be cheesy), Grand Isle, Lake Ponchatrain (although Middendorf's might satisfy this, as might a trip across the Causeway) - and I'll throw in one a lot of people might not do - the Gillis Long Center in Carville, and tour the Hansen's disease center.

I didn't include Lafayette because, frankly, it is tough to pin down what culturally unique places there are for someone coming from Iowa to appreciate - of course Lafayette has great food, is the center of Cajun culture and all that.

ETA: And what about a road trip to Venice - "The end of the world"?
