BRPD is working a shooting on Sherwood, looks like the whole street is closed off.

From Twitter

From WAFB

quote:

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported it happened on Sherwood Forest near Major Oak Drive. Sherwood Forest is closed between Old Hammond Boulevard and Goodwood Boulevard.

Investigators said the victim was shot at least once and taken to the hospital. The victim's condition is unknown.

There are three wrecked vehicles within the crime scene investigation area. There is also a downed light pole.

I saw someone run from a car this morning on Greenwell Springs Road and the dude ran across the road to grab her and pushed her back to the car and threw her down.

I'll likely never intervene in that particular setting around that area. Somebody pulled over to help. I ain't risking my life for those people. Got a family to think about.

Couldn't be a more rapidly declining area of the city. Homes in Sherwood are going for under $90 a square foot. It's appalling to drive on that road these days. The stretch between Old Hammond and Florida is abysmal.
