Is there a more cliche-filled movie than Tombstone? Don't get me wrong, I love the movie. But I cringe every time I watch it. Cue another tumbleweed rolling by as the scared mother runs to grab her child off the street before the gunfight...

Tombstone is a popcorn western as has been stated. But it works perfectly as that. It wasn't cast or written with history in mind, Val Kilmer as sickly Doc Holliday? Joanna Pacula as Big Nose Kate?
It's over the top, but it works.
I don't dislike Wyatt Earp, but it's mediocre as a bio pic and Kevin Costner can wear thin on me sometimes.
