My next door neighbors are a really sweet retired couple and are great except for the fact the old man keeps cutting my front lawn while I'm at work. I actually enjoy doing the yardwork cause its my only justifiable excuse to get some sun on my 1 day off a week. I tried telling him to back off nicely and explain my reasoning but it just doesn't compute w/ this guy; he thinks he's returning the favor for the random shite I do for them but in reality its getting on my fricking nerves. What do I tell him w/out hurting the old bastard's feelings?

How about you shut the frick up, let the old man do what he wants, and get outside and do something else on your only day off a week.

If you dump a gallon jug of roundup throughout his yard he will spend his days (and nights) trying to figure out why his shite is jacked up and he won't worry about yours anymore.

Tell him to do all the edging, cutting bushing, pulling weeds, spraying round-up, all the bitch work if he really wants to help.

Mow his and see what happens. Give the old geezer a taste of his own medicine.

If your only excuse is that it deprives you of exercise, you should take up running.

I wouldn't want our neighbors to cut our grass because I never see him sharpen his blades and he cuts his way too short.

ETA: also consider not giving them unsolicited favors so he doesn't feel obligated to return

Poor old man just looking for a reason to stay outside and not have to deal with his grumpy wife.

tell him the way you like to cut your grass is to have it weedeated and trimmed and you want it done a certain way

So he can continue doing it as long as he does it a certain way

......he won't want to weedeat

You are lucky to have such a good neighbor.

You can either cut your grass anyway, or find something to do outside in your yard or his.
