I did the Machete viewing but there's a lot of questions to be answered. Why are the clones waiting on Obi-Wan? References to Anakin as the maker, slave, etc. Most importantly you don't get the relationship with Qui-Gon and his insistence on training Anakin. Of the prequels the duel of the fates is the best thing to come out of it.

The only things cool about Episode 1 are the Podrace and Darth Maul.
Someone else asked why QGJ was obsessed with training Anakin?
I think he saw Obi Wan in Anakin because IIRC Obi Wan was an older apprentice at the Jedi Academy and was considered headstrong much like how Anakin was perceived in the books between Menace and AOTC.
But I haven't read all the books, so I may be missing stuff.

So many turds in this thread. Regardless of how you feel about I, II and III; go in order.
If you have time I would watch Clone Wars between II and III, and then Star Wars Rebels between III and IV. I know they are cartoons, but for kids it adds a lot to the story.
Watching Clone Wars is a commitment though, many episodes and many seasons. Rebels has not played out all the way, but I feel their is something key to Ashoka

I don't know why TPM gets so much hate. AOTC is by far the worst Star Wars movie. Worst SFX of the saga as well when it comes to blue screen.
