What do you think Urban will do, and what would you do with this situation?

I would have to give Jones the nod, and I wouldn't use a 2 QB system. I think Urban will name Jones the starter but quickly pull him if there's any slow down in the offense.

urban has run two QB systems before and won the whole thing.

He has no choice... Cardale exploded in the Big 10 title game, against Alabama in the semifinal, and against Oregon in the title game.

If he starts Barrett, the media will turn this into a shitstorm for the entire season.

Cardale will be a better pro, not sure about college.

Just once*. And Tebow and Leak were polar opposites at QB.

Leak was the pocket passer (with some athleticsm) while Tebow was the dual threat.

Jones and Barrett are both dual threat QBs who bring pretty much the same thing.

I think Cardale will be the better player overall, but he's not as accurate as JT was last year. And with experience lacking at receiver, accuracy will be more important. Still, I think not giving Cardale the first shot would result in outrage based on his previous performances. Also, he's an upperclassmen to JT, so JT could have his chance again after Cardale goes to the draft this year

And JT Barrett broke the single season TD record for the B1G.

People forget how damn good he was last year.

JT will be the starter.

Thats not the point.

People will remember how Cardale performed at money time last year and hes considered a highly rated NFL prospect.

Just FYI, JT Barrett was voted one of 6 captains this week, Cardale wasn't.

I still don't understand why Cardale decided to come back. So many NFL teams desperate for a QB. He would have gone 2nd round at the latest.

I would start Cardale. Tough tough call Urban's got.

Please stop. Barrett is the obvious choice.

I agree that could be a sign, but I'd also make the point that it could be he got picked a captain because he decided to stay with the team instead of transferring, even knowing Cardale would probably end up the starter ahead of him

I would honestly be shocked if Cardale wins the job. Barrett had one of the best seasons in B1G history last year and has the personality that Urbs likes in a QB.

Agree.

However, I can't understand this comparison. Cardale Jones is more comparable to a slimmer JaMarcus Russell, whereas J.T. Barrett is a superbly athletic quarterback who seems more inline with Michael Vick or a more polished Darron Thomas.

If you were the coach, you would know barrett is better, especially for college, so you would start Barrett.

Idk what Urban would do but I would start Barrett and use Jones situationally. Frankly, Jones did a lot of stupid things in the playoffs and got away with most of them. If Barrett has a brain, I play Barrett.
