This came across my Facebook. What do y'all think. Personally I like the previous narrator. Saturday Night in Death Valley

Original was the best hype video of all time. This is just mediocre

This video is well done, but it's missing the oomph of the first one. It's great that Dan Borne contributed something that will likely be around for a very long time.
Also, on the first video:

Also, on the first video:
quote:
Fans who have become familiar with Borne’s voice over the past quarter-century would never know the words in the video are his.
That’s because the voice isn’t his. For that job, LSU contracted with Hollywood voice over artist Tom Kane, whose work includes the Academy Awards and the voice of Yoda in a string of Star Wars TV shows and video games.

Significantly worse than the original.
Borne sounds like he's reading off a card.

It makes sense to have Borne do it. Its his poem and he's the voice of Tiger Stadium/Saturday Night in Death Valley. But I think I'm partial to the original.

Sounds extremely awkward. We need to combine his old voiceover with these new clips

The voice in the new one is turble. Awkward, wooden, no soul, no spine.
Painful.

I know money was spent making this knew one, but I will be very disappointed if this remake takes the place of the original pre game. It's just not as good plain and simple

I haven't been very impressed with the production of videos since 2011. Maybe they reduced teh production staff.

The original was perfection... this one is like trying to do a remake of a classic movie. They seem to never capture that original spirit.

I'm a big fan ...but that one is stiff...it's intended for retirement home viewing, apparently.

Line reading is too slow.

You guys have to remember that this is going to be played in the stadium and there's going to be a lot of reverb. The voice quality is a lot clearer to compensate for that.

Dan sounds like he doesn't want to be there.
The video was great. The voice ruined it for me.
