Assuming the following scenario, which do you choose and why?

2011 Porsche Cayenne
- 40,000 miles
- 2 years of CPO warranty
- $38k

2011 Lexus GX 460
- 40,000 miles
- 3 years of CPO warranty
- $32k

Both have around 300HP, both have full time AWD, and both have similarly equipped interiors. Drive about 17,000 miles/year.

Porsche Interior:

Lexus Exterior:

Lexus Interior:

Huge chick/mom vehicles.

Who's the chick driving them? Ask her which one she likes.

If it's my vehicle, the Porsche. If it's for the wife, the Lexus.

Long-term reliability will ne better with the Lexus, but dang, its as plain as dry toast.

The Lexus is 4x4, which is superior to AWD, and has a low range and a differential locker. It's a much more serious offroad vehicle. The Lexus will also last longer and cost less to own.

the lexus will be cheaper to fix when needed. I would rather have the porsche, but if you are worried about repairs breaking you, then lexus.

The Cayenne is much more enjoyable and engaging to drive. I've owned one.

One is a dressed up Toyota the other is a dressed up VW. The German one is at least fun to drive. The soulless Japanese pile of shite will run forever but you might hate it and when that touch screen dies it will be $8k to replace.

As a long time Porsche fan and owner, if the porsche isn't a turbo then I would buy a Volvo XC90. It's a better car. Better power plant, better transmission, better interior. It will run forever. 2011 is a good year for the 3.2, insurance will be cheaper, and you can buy parts for it at the local Vatozone.

Out of those two the Porsche. Driving experience means a lot to me and the Porsche will be a lot more fun. The Germans are great at making a fun to drive vehicle.

Out of all the choices an Audi.

My wife just got a 2011 Audi Q5 with the four cylinder turbo. That thing is awesome to drive, has a nice interior (Porsche has a lot of buttons), and I don't have many concerns over long term reliability. I got the cpo warranty from Audi as well.

Toyota with makeup is to blah for my taste.

Volvo, aren't they owned by a Chinese company since 2010? I already give to much much money to the Chinese for underwhelming products, but I admit I have never ridden in any Volvo.
