re: Will the millennials be a lost generation?

I read an article this morning that 22% of millennials are supporting their parents in some way.

Boomers bringing us down one way or another.

What is worst is that the people that support these killing policies stay in Congress until they die. The average age of Congress is around 60, which makes it one of the oldest Congresses in US history.

If this is a genuine post, then I almost have to agree. You can make the argument that they have and are still continually breaking this country. They also don't understand why there is so much angst out there against them.

I laugh so hard at this repeated topic. People are staYing in school longer which leads to a delay when they get a real job but gives them increased potential in that job.

In the 80s the majority of people would be fiNE with a high school education and some with a college degree.

Now, you need an mba or you aren't going anywhere, thus, instead of enteeing the workforce on average in the low 20s, our generation enters it at late 20s early 30s which scews that graphic

Yea, I can't stress this enough. Baby boomers fricking suck. Borrowed trillions to prop up sweet public benefits and welfare for themselves and stuck X-ers and Mils with the bills. And don't even get me started with the rape and pillage union contracts they worked for 40 years.

This has been a problem since I was a kid back in the 70's and 80's. But in the past 8 years, the problem has grown by leaps & bounds. In fact, Obama has increased debt more than all presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush Combined. So who did the Millennials support in 2008?

I just read Leaders eat Last by Simon Sinek. He has a couple chapters on this and how it came to be. Once human capital became a lever that could be pulled to create short term value and prop up stock prices, all ideals of loyalty were gone (early/mid 90s). This has trickled down to smaller & smaller companies over the years.

..and its goes back to the selfish attitude of whomever is running these companies, which are all Baby Boomers. People are non longer viewed human beings in a lot of the business world. They are statistics in a spreadsheet that are a variable cost which can be managed to compensate for loss of margin.

But there is hope, the X/Y generations are so disgruntled by this that there will be change over the coming years...just have to get those old bastards out of control.
