Lets ignore the fact that the oldest millennials were about 25 in 2008. Without gen x and baby boomers, he wouldn't have been elected in the first place.
And that's not even considering how ridiculous it is to blame all of this on Obama.

I'm curious to know of a generation in the past that has been "lost". Please enlighten me.

I was wondering when you'd pop in here blaming the millennials.

Go on...
Nobody's holding a gun to their heads forcing them to borrow every cent they borrow just because they can for school.
Take a look around the roadways today - the vast majority of cars and trucks nicer than yours are driven by millennials. They focus too much on the "cheap" monthly cost rather than the overall cost. This drives up their debt, restraining the majority of their monthly income. Forcing them to rent instead of buy a home.
They rent way more than any other generation does. They're throwing their money away on something they'll never call their own. Many of them are renting because they've made stupid decisions earlier in their life (such as borrowing entirely too much, whether for school, cars, retail stores, etc.). They can't afford to buy a home and start a family in a home of their own.
So many of them are moving back in with their parents as well. This further deteriorates the economy since they're literally contributing nothing to society in many, many of those cases. It's very likely that the reason they moved back in with parents is because they don't have a job, due to their habits. This generation has no job-hunting skills whatsoever. Trust me, I see their resume's and cover letters (if they actually submit one) all the time. It's not hard at all to stick out above the rest in this generation. All they have to do is simply misspell only a few words on their resume and submit a one-paragraph cover letter and they're immediately standing out. It's very pathetic, really.
The millennial generation is truly pathetic. They're doomed later in life.

Well let's see, one of the biggest gripes from Millennials is the massive debt that past generations have put on their backs. And the Millennials answer to this is to turn around and elect TWICE a guy who throws more debt on your backs than every POTUS that came before him combined. Smart.
You're a smart guy. You should know that there are many other reasons why the national debt keeps increasing that doesn't have to do with President Obama.

It's funny because you say millennials are the only reason he was elected.

Read the links son, the youth vote in both 2008 & 2012 were decisive in getting Obama elected.

Reading must be hard for you. Nobody is blaming all the Millennials problems on Obama. I only pointed out that one of your generation's biggest gripes is the amount of debt being passed on to you and yet your generation by a wide margin has twice voted for a guy who has done nothing but pile even more debt on your backs. This is like seeing your house on fire and grabbing a can of gas to try and douse the flames.

Yeah damn young kids for trying to go through school, better themselves and get an education that used to be dirt cheap for the older generations.

I don't have a single friend like this.
Why aren't you pointing the finger towards the people that raised such a "terrible" generation?

Millennial generation is widely considered to have begun with those born in 1980. In 2008 they would have been 28 not 25.

Baby boomers as a whole voted against Obama both times.

How is it ridiculous when Obama has increased to the debt more than all of the presidents before him combined? Not to mention saddling the country with the costly and burdensome Obamacare.

It's funny because you don't want to take responsibility for your generation's role in getting him elected twice. Of course this does not surprise me. The word "responsibility" seems to be a dirty word to you when pointed at your own generation. In this regard your generation reminds me of the Boomers. They thought that everyone else was wrong and had screwed up the world for them just like your generation is doing now. It's always someone else's fault.

Well, that one that was named, "The Lost Generation," certainly comes to mind. Use your Goozhle and type that in.

Take away all the millennials, no Obama.
Take away all the democrats, no Obama.
Take away all the blacks, no Obama.
I mean, if these things could have happened America would be basically debt free.

It's always difficult to lump a generation into one monolithic group. As an older millennial, it sometimes appears to me that the younger ones lack the same work ethic I do, but I expect it's more just a maturity and anecdotal thing.
Millennials will be fine. They have high student debts, as others have stated, plus a difficult time finding good jobs due to the glut of boomers staying in their jobs forever. They also have limited political power at this point. Give them about 10-15 years, and I think we'll turn out fine. We are more efficient than any other generation, and once we get some more real world experience, I think we'll have more moderate political leanings (at least fiscally) than the previous generations.

Darth, you pop up in these threads a lot and tend to stick on the offensive. I may have missed it but I've never seen you claim a generation, just shitting on millennialis and boomers. Can you please tell us what generation you belong to and why it is or isn't shitty?
Posted on 8/5/15 at 9:24 am to Darth_Vader
While my generation blows, let's not pretend like the generation that raised us pieces of shite was stellar either.
You guys invented social justice activism, degraded our entire education system to dogshit, reinforced and solidified a culture of entitlements and taught us how to borrow money without pause.
Oh, and there is the tiny matter that your generation makes up the huge majority of our government.
So thanks, dicks.

Well if people are going to blame the boomers for financial irresponsibility and economic illiteracy, seems only fair to bring it up. He's not blaming Obama, just explaining why it's unreasonable to pin the blame on the boomers for those problems when the youth vote has been key for Obama.
Posted on 8/5/15 at 9:26 am to LucasP
His generation voted for Obama in both elections too.

Fortunately for millennials, we are seeing places like Greece implode and will begin to recognize the consequences of such policies.

Post WWI (WWI vets and right around there) is generally considered the classic "lost generation".
