Yeah, but the best thing for the USMNT isn't necessarily to be in the business of making guys who aren't ready yet better.
Hyndman is technically advanced and by all accounts did well in the Championship last year. But he looked tiny in the U20s this year. He may be a guy that doesn't peak until his late 20s.
Patience.
Let's not make it sound like playing a single midfielder who is on the edge of being ready but may not be 100% ready will be the death of the USMNT. In the long-term it could very well be better for the USMNT even if the short term gives bumps.
The USMNT does not have world class midfielders. Bradley is a lock for one of the positions, but the other positions change every match. The opportunity cost of giving someone with a bright future an opportunity over Beckerman/Mix/Corona/Morales/Bedoya/Zusi is minimal.
If Hyndman was replacing someone that is a current star, then the conversation is different. The reality is our midfield is the definition of average with the current talent pool.

Playing both Zalalem and Hyndman at the same time would be a mistake for the first team. However, pair one of them up with Bradley and I am confident the captain can provide support and guidance on field.

I mean, death is strong, but it could cost you crucial points. Friendlies, yeah, run him out. Anything else, I'm quite hesitant. There needs to be almost nothing on the line, unless he's shown at the club level he can handle it. I'm not familiar enough with Fulham's play of late to know if that's the case.
