New Orleans is on our short list of possible honeymoon destinations. I am looking for good, but not break the bank, hotel and restaurant recommendations. We want to eat well but not go broke doing so. We may go do one expensive night out but mainly are looking for solid food at a good price, not a tourist trap. What do y'all say? TIA!

AirBnB for cheap rooms. It pisses of some people, but frick em.

Food

Not break the bank would be happy hours and counter service type places.

It also depends on your idea of break the bank.

Use RateDrop.com for hotels. Email me and I'll walk you through it.

I'm staying at Le Pavillon for $98 next weekend.

If you do go for an expensive meal one night I highly recommend Commanders Palace.

Best times to visit are around July 4th and weekend after thanksgiving.

Garden District bed and breakfast 2000 block of Magazine. Great location can walk to bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. I would do one good meal at Commanders or August. Other cheap but good places: Peche, Parkway, Felix's, Sylvain.
