Which active MLB players should be HOFers?

Should be in
1B
Albert Pujols
Miguel Cabrera
Pujols is already #2 all-time in career WAR for a 1B. With the way he's been swinging the bat recently, he has a legitimate shot at passing the #1 1B Lou Gehrig in career WAR. Even if Pujols doesn't pass Gehrig, he probably is already the greatest 1B of all-time when you factor in league quality. Anyway, he's a first ballot lock. So is Miguel Cabrera.
2B
Chase Utley
Utley might never make the HOF but he should. There are 20 2B in the HOF. Among those HOF 2B, his career WAR would be 12th on the list. From 2005 to 2009, Utley had five straight seasons with at least a 7.0 WAR. Every other second basemen in history with five consecutive 7 WAR seasons is in the HOF. His career 124 OPS+ is tied for 9th highest among 2B with over 1000 games played at the position. Utley was a tremendous baserunner. He's #1 all-time in career SB%. He was also a very good fielder with over 100 defensive runs saved for his career, an outstanding power hitter for a 2B and a very good postseason performer. IMO, he's clearly the best 2B since Alomar and Biggio and should be a first ballot HOFer. Unfortunately, it'll probably take the VC to get him in.
SS/3B
Alex Rodriguez
I don't care about the steroids. A-Rod is one of the greatest players of all-time. You could cut some of his career numbers in half and it still would be better than most SS in the HOF. He should be in.
3B
Adrian Beltre
Most of Beltre's value is tied to his defense. He's probably the second greatest defensive 3B of all-time and should get in the HOF just based on his defensive merits alone. When you throw in everything he's done at the plate as well (#9 all-time in offensive WAR among 3B, close to 3000 hits, over 400 HRs), he should be a lock. We'll see if he gets in though. I like his chances more than Utley's.
RF
Ichiro Suzuki
Ichiro's numbers are pretty pedestrian in a lot of ways. He only had one season with an OBP higher than .400. He has a career OPS of .768 and a career OPS+ of 109. Both of those numbers would be among the lowest for a HOF who didn't play a premium defensive position like catcher or SS. But you can't ignore his accomplishments. He has almost 3000 hits despite starting his career at age 27, has the all-time season record of 262 hits and led the league in hits seven times, was a 10x all-star, AL MVP, etc... It wouldn't be a proper HOF if Ichiro wasn't a member and he'll get in with flying colors.
Borderline HOF or deserve to get in as long as their career doesn't collapse in the next few years
Joe Mauer
Robinson Cano
Carlos Beltran
Has a better HOF case than people think
David Wright
Dustin Pedroia
There's still a lot of work left to be done
Yadier Molina
Evan Longoria
Troy Tulowitzki
Joey Votto
Adrian Gonzalez
Great careers but not HOFers
David Ortiz
Jimmy Rollins
Torii Hunter
Mark Buehrle
Tim Hudson
Johan Santana
Cliff Lee
C.C. Sabathia
Mark Teixeira
Well on their way but needs to stay healthy
Clayton Kershaw
Felix Hernandez
Madison Bumgarner
Buster Posey
Andrew McCutchen
Mike Trout
Bryce Harper

You think David wright has a good argument at HOF but Torii Hunter just "had a good career"? Lol. Ok
How many people NOT in the HOF had 350 HRs, 1300 Rs & RBI ...... And won 9 gold gloves.... In a row????

The HOF will officially become a joke when Ortiz gets in while Bonds and ARod are still sitting on the outside.

Stanton is definitely missing from that "On their way but needs to stay healthy" If he comes back from injury playing the way he was he'll have 200 HRs by the end of his age 25 season.

Dale Murphy says hi on the offensive numbers part (and in a far more offense unfriendly era). I think alot of you are underestimating how hard it is to get into the HOF as an OF. Andruw Jones is unlikely to be in the HOF, Hunter has a worse resume than Andruw.
I don't think Carlos Beltran really has the counting stats to get in, he'd have to play into his 40s to have any shot.

How bout Chris Carter of the Astros? I mean, jeez, what better human windmill have you ever seen?????

Stanton is awesome to watch. Nearly all of his homers are "no doubters". His power is incredible, although it helps being 6'6 240lbs.

Buster Posey is the real deal.

Pedroia has a RoY, MVP, silver slugger, 4 golden gloves, and is a 2 time world series champion. The power is back this year now that he's healed his thumb, and he should be able to maintain a ~800 to 850 OPS for another 4-6 years and continue to collect GGs, All-Star appearances, and maybe another SS.
Add that to the fact the baseball writers love him and he's quotable as hell and I'm almost positive he'll get in.

-he does, because of the sub category of being a switch hitter
- 300HR 300SB club
-300HR 300 SBs 1300runs/RBI, 400+ doubles, one of 5 players
- postseason monster

WTF? I gave Pedroia plenty of credit when I said he has a stronger HOF case than people think. I just don't think the general public thinks of him as a strong HOF candidate. If he accumulates another 20 WAR which is basically 4-6 more good seasons, he deserves to be in.
