Terrible.
Soggy bun, fries were fresh but Tony's on Sweet Potato Fries? Shake was delicious.
3 bites into burger and it went in the trash. Same with Fries.

Would never eat here. Low end burger chains are all terrible (five guys, mooyah, smash). Go buy a real hamburger. Those places are for children and people with no palate

I'd rather go across the street to burgersmith

Here's a pic of my lunch yesterday to make you feel better. Or worse.
Grindhouse Atlanta local chain.

I was not overwhelmed with Mooyah, nor was I disgusted. It was a decent burger, nothing special. Size was a bit small for me.
The chain does absolutely nothing to stand out from any other chain.
For my money, the best burger in town is still to be found at Brewbacher's. Dearman's has a top quality burger too.
That's the problem with all of these new pizza and burger joints. They don't really stand out. They all just offer the same standard shite. Where is the GIANT 2 pound burger? What about Chicken Tandoori or Crab Rangoon pizza? A good Chicago style pizza? I loved Cheeburger Cheeburger because you could get a giant hamburger with any of a million toppings on it. Or just bacon.
/rant.
TL;DR--I did not care a lot for Mooyah. BR burger places don't separate themselves.

It's a decent burger for cheap. A step above fast food burgers. Great for kids.
Burgersmith is better but their service keeps me from going back.

It's not that difficult to make a great burger at home. Here I used half Angus ground chuck/half ground pork and seasoned with kosher salt and black pepper and cooked in a hot cast iron past. Put that on a pretzel bun (my wife's favorite) and dressed the way I like. Easy and delicious.

Had Mooyah for lunch a month ago. It wasn't terrible. But it wasn't very memorable either.
I've had a better experience at Smashburger & Burgersmith.

Mooyah Three trips to OAK LAWN REST, same results the beef had a fowl aftertaste. Tried to call the place no response. Tasted like the beef had been frozen and then thawed. All three times I visited same thing. Three strikes and your out. They store the beef in a drawer beneath the grill. My guess it raises the temperature of the beef. NEVER AGAIN.

Problem with the places mentioned is you have to eat in the place, if you take out, by the time you get home they are soggy and bad.
My rankings:
Burgersmith
Mooyah
Five Guys
Smash
I don't go to Fat Cow enough.
Still want to try Curbside, I'm just not on that end of town enough.

Best burger in NOLA is the kimchi burger at Mint on Freret. Damndest thing, its this fey little vietnamese fusion place and it is the best burger-and-wings joint me been to in long time.
Shout out to food critic Anderson on Nola.com for highlighting this badass burger and introducing me to my mind!
