Might as well get this kicked off.

Took the kayak out to a new spot in Cocodrie/Dulac area. Took me a few hours to find where they were hiding. Caught all five reds and the flounder in a narrow, 50 yard long canal. Looks to be a legit spot.

Will be catchin and releasin this afternoon.

Hopefully, I have a similar haul. I'm going to get on the water before all the boat traffic in the morning. Just praying the weather holds up.

I was pretty protected where I was but I felt it when I was trolling back to the launch. It's every fricking weekend. The old timers say it didn't use to be this bad.

Funny enough the last couple times we've been out the wind has actually calmed down the later it has gotten. Stopped at our best spot first thing this morning and the water was chocolate milk, though behind the islands the water was at least fishable.

Dad and his wife caught 28 this morning at sulphur mines with live shrimp. No one else around them catching as frequent.

Lost a bunch at the boat because wife can't flip in and dad was netting.

As predicted. Natty Lite and myself hulk smashed em!! 20 bass by 7:30. Threw back another 20, found the sacacait and a frogging spot in the process. Talk about a fun trip. Bonus red and a few perch. Plus i hooked a sheepshead on 6# sacalait tackle and Natty touched the leader before we cut it (it popped) so we counted it. Happy 4th baws, be safe. Lot of traffic on the water.

The wife and I caught 20 trout this afternoon in cocodrie. 4 others at the camp ended with 60 fishing morning and evening. We all will be at it again in the morning.

I had to grab that leader and make it official. I wasn't going to but that sheepshead eyeballed me and started grinning at me with those beautiful arse teeth and that was it.

Team ziplock strikes again. Special thanks to the "le Bateau Rouge" and her electronics for getting us there safely and quickly.
