Sounds pretty cool, however I wouldn't be the test subject on a first year model engine. If you really need more towing capacity why get a compact truck?

Hope these models turn out well, will love to see Toyota suffer for being ignorant of the times.

Remember a post on TacomaWorld a few months ago after the '16 model was revealed without any expectations of a diesel option in the future. The poster actually received an email back from a Toyota exec. and was told that in the U.S., diesel options are too hard to design to meet EPA regulations and that they didn't think they could sell that many diesel Tacomas.

Although my personal preference will probably be going from my Tacoma to a 1/2-ton diesel option. Toyota will probably be revamping their engine options after they starting losing sales to GM with this garbage Lexus 3.5 they are putting in the new Tacoma.

As much as I like GMC's

I would get the Chevy...the GMC looks like a Honda Ridgeline from the front

Last week I got a Colorado crew cab, long bed with the V6. Really like it.

It tows more than my 2003 Silverado with the small v8, gets better mileage, handles and rides better, etc.
The old one is still a good truck at 242k miles so I passed it on to my son.

I have no need for the deisel, but it should be a good option for some.
