After the band split up, which Beatle had the best solo music?
My vote goes to George. All Things Must Pass is one of the greatest albums of all time. John's music was good too, and Imagine is 10/10 awesome. I thought Paul was better with the band than without-his solo music seemed to lack a strong depth. And admittedly I haven't listened to a ton of Ringo.

They all have produced memorable music post-Beatles. But Paul probably wins due to volume of output. It has not been consistently good, but there is enough that is good though to claim the prize.

George. There is just no getting past the absolute shitshow McCartney put on in the 80s

Overall IMO: Paul
Best Album: George by a long shot, again, in my humble opinion.

Paul then George
The John and Yoko collaboration is the bane of my existence. Most is absolute shite.

For my personal tastes:
George
Ringo's cheesy tunes like Photograph
John
Paul
As a more unbiased critic:
Paul
John/George
Ringo

John
Paul
As a more unbiased critic:
Paul
John/George
Ringo

I always think of how good the next Beatle record would have been if they had stayed together. Think of the solo hits being on it.

This
There are several songs on All Things Must Pass that were rejected by John and Paul to include on Beatles albums. It's on par with some of the Beatles' very best.

Their solo careers reflected their influence and style within the band:
Paul - most prolific, most catchy - best pop sensibilities
John - most biting, most political, most densely packed lyrical content
George - most thoughtful, most introspective, most spiritual
Ringo - most fun, most upbeat, most positive (although this is close with Paul's solo work)
And they clearly influenced each other to a certain degree - take "Watching the Wheels" and "Woman" - by John, as 2 examples - although clearly John, those songs have a very George vibe to them. George's "Got my mind set on you" - sounds almost like John singing a song written by Paul, from a pure stylistic standpoint.
Ringo's huge hit "Photograph" was co-written with George, so that's an obvious influence there.
So - this is very subjective - and if you liked Paul's songs with the Beatles, you're probably going to prefer his solo work and so on.
Heck, is "Photograph" the best single by a solo Beatle? Maybe. And it is by the least valuable from a musical standpoint and clearly the worst singer.

From a critical standpoint I would say John Lennon. His Imagine is regarded as one of the greatest songs of all-time. Paul McCartney had more hits though.

George Harrison was the only Beatle worth a shite.
The real Paul McCartney died around 1967 so the guy releasing music under his name doesn't actually count as a "solo" Beatle, although he's had some solid stuff. (Still not as good as George anyway)
