Somewhere in California, Brad Pitt is starting to panic because his excuse to not marry Angelina Jolie until gay people can get married is no longer valid.

Good.

Not that this is over, no one will be harmed and we can move on to actually important shite like reigning in our national spending, stopping the drug war, and reducing our debt so our economy doesn't implode.

Correct.

Too many people (women) voting based off social issues. We need to move past that and get to the shite that actually matters.

Glad this is finally done. It's about damn time.

But we'll soon see the lobby go after churches and stuff which I'm fully against

Doubt it.

I am very pro gay-marriage equality, but I understand that churches can still not marry them. That's why it was so stupid they were against it. Its not like the government can force a church to marry gays. That will never happen.

This won't affect any non-gay in any real negative way.

And we can finally move the frick on. Welcome to marriage, you have no idea what you got yourself into

The complete opposite, once every one gets their way all the bitching and blame towards us will hopefully die down.

Good news is that now the focus will be on the rainbow flag and not the confederate flag.

Now southern states have a reason to secede from the union again.

Who cares let them be miserable. Time to start keeping track of divorce rates and second marriages among them.

Real winners here, marriage counselors and divorce lawyers.

Assuming you are a Baby Boomer, this country was much better before your generation ruined it.

This.

I know my church will never marry a gay couple. The entire service is about procreating more little Catholics.... Of course they don't want a couple that cannot procreate in their church. But I am very happy for the government to give equal rights to all people so this is great.

Now gay couples can feel the positive effects on taxes and the negative effects of divorce. Really it's a win for divorce attorneys more than anything. It's not like they couldn't already live together and play married.

I too fully support gay marriage, but im not so sure acceptance wont be forced. We already see private businesses forced to serve through threat of fines. No reason to think it couldn't happen to churches with the threat of removing tax exempt statuses.

Ever heard of tax exempt status?

Say goodbye to that for churches that refuse.

nah, those aren't important. Social issues are important.

Churches have insane protection from the Supreme Court and law.

Much more so than general private businesses. Sure, there may be social pressure, but I would bet my life no legal action could be successful against a church denying same-sex ceremonies.
