Vacation Ideas For Handicap Child

Son (13) is in a wheelchair. Looking for good / accessible places to go on vacation. Of course Disneyworld is an option, but looking for others options.

Honestly, I can't imagine any place that is not specifically made for handicapped kids that would go the extra mile for whatever y'all need like Disney would
ETA: not to say there aren't any, I just know Disney goes the extra mile in everything

We were out in Utah at Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks earlier this year. Every major viewpoint and the highly-popular trails/paths were all wheelchair accessible. Wife and I were actually impressed with the accessibility.

This year I had my first wheelchair bound student in my class. I have learned that we could go everywhere with him that we could go with the other students. There is almost nowhere these days that is not wheelchair accessible. Dealing with a 13 year old however.....lol

Rent an RV and take him on a road trip across the country.
Also. They make wheel chairs for the beach. You can rent them anywhere.

I take my disabled daughter to Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio. It's built specifically for disabled kids and is wonderful but depending on your sons cognitive level, he might be a little too old for it.
