The $16.25M cap hit is the reason he isn't gone. Whether they cut or trade him, he would have cost us $16.25M. There is no way they could eat that this year and expect to actually contend.
Yep. Extending him early was a HUGE mistake. If it were not for that mistake, he would be on the streets likely looking for a deal worth half or less.

Nah, watch it again. And listen closely. The voice saying 60 grand guaranteed, is the same voice saying "F- Shawn". That's junior saying it.

The Saints have an excuse to put him on injured reserve and they have put people on IR with less serious injuries. They do that all the time.

Shut him down first chance he gets and he will go away from the team. Then cut him next year.

Sean*

And no, it isn't. The first time it's being said, you can see Junior laughing in the background at the end of it being said. The second time it's being said, you can clearly see the guy to the left saying it, which it the same voice from the first time it was said. Not defending Junior on this at all, but it's pretty clear that he wasn't the one saying "frick Sean".

Although Payton can be deceiving about injuries, especially at times when he isn't required to divulge that info, that's good news. Despite Galette's dumbass antics, the fact remains that the Saints' defense is better with him. Let's hope that he can keep his moth shut for the rest of the offseason, and get ready to earn that paycheck again this season.

Not that I don't believe you, but where did you see Payton say that?

It's a shame because him being an undrafted free agent caused many of us to become a fan of his, since many love the underdog.

After a handful of quiet (off the field) seasons and a reward for his solid play, he has just tail spun into a very unlikeable person.

Got friends that are inside reporters. In his interview just now he said it. It'll hit the interweb shortly

Agreed. I remember watching his Temple/Stillman highlights, towards the end of the draft, and seeing him hurdle an OL to block a punt, hoping that the Saints would pick him up.

Because we all have the mentality that the UDFA play with a chip, that they have that drive and thirst that PT, Khiry, Ivory, etc... have that makes them likeable along with their lack of issues off the field.

Hell, look at some of our late round picks that were quality players, very humble. Junior is just junior. He is an idiot, but if he gets sacks and pressures and not causing a rift I really don't care.

No it wasn't. This is an extreme statement. He was a double digit sack guy who was turning into a premiere pass rusher. They signed him to quite a good deal given his performance and development. Do they regret it now? Yes it appears so, but not due to his play on the field. It is strictly due to him being completely changed by the money and fame. HUGE isn't the mistake made here. It's just a contract they would rather not have, but as long as he keeps getting sacks they are willing to deal with for another year.

It's pretty clear from that video he didn't tear his pec. At least, that's how I interpret it. Basically he's saying he got bigger things to worry about because that injury is minor. I guess. Anyways, yeah, he's a dumbass. He might not be the one saying the dumb shite in the video but his friends are a reflection on himself and I can easily see why he got into a domestic violence case. We need to get rid of him the first chance it's convenient. He's a ticking timebomb waiting to go off.

What's disturbing to me is this guy seemed fairly clean until he got his big contract. Then he just went to not being likable and doing all kinds of dumb shite. He doesn't lack effort on the field and that's what matters...however, you have to wonder when his next issue will pop up that potentially suspends him.

He should have his own reality TV show. Awesomeness would ensue.
