Going back to the 70s and 80s music wise - what should I listen to next?

I have decided to go back and listen to 70s / 80s stuff.
So I have been listening to classic cure and joy division, along with talking heads and television.
Any other suggestions along those lines?
eta: Joy division is absolutely amazing. I hadn't really listened to them in a long time and I regret letting them fall out of my rotation.

Well, looking at what you're listening to, you should love the Smiths and Wire. And maybe the Wipers.

I was never into them, I remember them but not real well. Listening to the link you provided. Me no link. Sorry.

I already had my smiths renaissance last years. Meh. I did like the wire back in the 80s, good call.
Never heard of the wipers.
ETA: surprised you didn't say the clash.
eta: Wire was a win, wipers not so much.

Berlin Pleasure Victim
Is a perfect representation of early 80s synth-pop.

1970's?
What are you looking for. Soft rock, hard rock beginnings, or just classic rock? If you have not found Zepplin yet, WTF are you doing?
I've recently rediscovered soft rock singer songwriters. Jim Croce and Gordon Lightfoot are heavy in my rotation. Lol. Croce was awesome.

pimp stole roxy music from me. I didn't see Sex Pistols. Furs, Fixx, Siouxie and the Banshees, talk talk. Definitely talk talk.
