Yes I know that canned chili to some is an automatic ,
but if circumstances prevent you from making the real McCoy,
which commercial product is best?

Hormel?

Wolf?

Campbell's?

Other?

Hormel. Can't be beat on chili dogs.

Wolf with beans. Used to crush that stuff back in the day.

The other night, I had a pound of ground round that I was trying to find a use for. Browned it in some bacon fat, added a can of Hormel , some extra chili powder and a little dark beer and put it on hot dogs. Pretty darn tasty !

Bush's Chili was good (the same people that make the baked beans) but I don't think they make it anymore.

If I had to pick one, I'd pick Campbell's. I hate that Wolf chili.

Hormel is ok but it's more of a chili topping, like for hot dogs.

I've been doing the wolf + rotel (drained first) for many moons.

Rotel + Dinty Moore = a reasonably good "Mexican stew"

Wendy's

It's better than canned, probably cheaper, will last in the fridge for up to a week and you can freeze in the container it comes in if necessary. No reason to ever buy canned chili for me.
