Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (NKOTB sucked edition)

Morning fellas. I had a nice relaxing weekend, but I could have done without the terrible sounds that came from the mouths of Donnie, Jonathan, Danny, Joey and Jordan. They should retire and quit attempting to dance. The boys on here are more talented than those wash ups. Their fans were attractive though.
After downing some Beam at home Friday, we ran to Borgne for happy hour before the NKOTB, Nelly and TLC concert. The place was packed with women aged 30-40. I was one of a couple dudes enjoying the scene. I grabbed a Benchmark and we placed an order for some $5 appetizers. We went with turkey necks, catfish sliders, lemon grass beef and crawfish bisque.
The necks were probably some of the best I've had. I generally just eat mine boiled. I think this were boiled then flash fried, and then pepper jelly was spread on top. They were the best thing there. The sliders were very good too. You can't beat the $5 sticker price.
After polishing off the apps, and before happy hour ended, I ordered another Benchmark and a tall boy for the walk to the Smoothie King Center.
We snuck some Beam into the concert, but it went quickly. We then had to start buying $16 Jack Daniel "doubles." I'd feel fine giving my two year old niece the amount of alcohol the arena put into a double.
Our seats were pretty good. Nelly owned the night. And his dancers were hell of thick.
After the shite show of the NKOTB, we ran to Sanchez for a second meal. We ordered bourbon and beer.
We ordered shoft shell crab torta, crawfish enchilada, chicken enchilada, guacamole, and pork belly tacos. We had the crawfish enchiladas recently, and they were just as good as they were the last time. Les would agree that it's damn strong. The torta was pretty good too. The crab was fat and cooked perfectly. My only complaint was the bread. I wish it would have been toasted a little longer.
We decided not to go out since it was drizzling and my boy was on a scooter. We went home and passed out.
I awoke hungry on Saturday. I had a few errands to run so I ran to Krystal. I got the 5 for $5. Two chicken sandwiches and 3 burgers. That was a mistake. While driving to wash my car, I had to detour to find a bathroom. I'll have to reconsider anytime in the future I crave such a shitty burger.

After passing the burgers, we decided to go to the Quarter to do a little shopping. I stopped at Lafitte's and grabbed a Beam. I wasn't feeling it, since I knew I would be walking around. I grabbed a tall boy on Decatur and headed to H&M and Saks.
After a little shopping, we went to Muriel's bar to eat. I like it back there. It's dark and cool. I grabbed an Abita and watched the Lady Tigers.
For lunch, I went with the stuffed mirliton and the lady got a black bean soup. The lunch came with a house salad, which I enjoyed a lot. The mirliton was very good. It had shrimp and andouille. Adjusting to the tomato sauce around it was a little tough. Grandma never made hers like that, but in the end I grew to enjoy it a lot. The flavors in the stuffing were great.
After eating, we returned to Lafitte's to watch a little hockey and shoot the shite with some friends. I still didn't feel like drinking bourbon. That Krystal worked me over quite well. I saw my buddy filling the Purple Drank machine, so I ordered one of those (even though it has bourbon).
After a couple, we returned home to take a ten minute power nap. I was meeting a friend at Blue Oak for dinner.
Chickie Wah Wah was closed in preparing for a show at 8. We were told that their doors wouldn't open until 7. We got there around 6:20, so I walked to Ideal Market to get three tall boys to enjoy with my wings before the doors opened. While we were waiting on the wings, the owner of the bar came out and threw a fit about us drinking the beer. That loser was bitching about some special agency that would walk by and get him in trouble. In all my years of drinking in NOLA, I have no clue what that whiny dude was talking about. We even offered to buy beers from him, but his doors were closed. His response was "I heard what you said, now listen to what I'm saying." He even wanted to charge us $20 to enter the building. That dude pissed me off for a second and likely needed a hug. I only waste hugs on strippers who are crying.
The wings came out and dominated.
We also got macaroni, brussel sprouts and a sausage link. The boys from Blue Oak brought it. Without a doubt, these are the best wings in the city. Thanks for the tip, busbeepbeep.
After dinner, we ran to Holy Ground for High Life.
After a couple beers, we ran back Uptown to Rendon to watch the Tigers win.
I went home and passed out to an episode of Jail.
On Sunday, I ran to mass. It was First Communion. The place was packed and I had to sneak to the bathroom, which is rather difficult since the key is a huge ladle spoon. Anytime I see someone with the spoon, I know that they're headed to take a dump. I was busted.
After mass, I stopped at Matassa's for a sausage and egg biscuit. I needed a base for the day. It was pretty good.
After a few rounds of Beam, my boy Woo said he wanted some chicken. He was in town visiting from New York. We ran to McHardy's and headed to my bro's for some beers.
McHardy's is one of my top two pick up fried chicken in town. It's always fresh and cheap. It also tastes very similar to grandma's fried chicken.
From there, I ran to do a little grocery shopping for the weak. I saw an egg salad sandwich in the cooler while I was checking out some cheeses. I decided to grab one to snack on. It was not very good unfortunately.
I made another Beam and threw my feet up to watch some television. For dinner, I had baked brie. It was outstanding.
For dessert, I had a turtle and a petit four from Robert's. They were great.
I likely will be taking two weeks off from the Rewind. I have weddings out of town, and out of respect to the brides, I'll cease from taking pictures of their food.
Stay fat, my friends.

Is it normal to served baked brie with a side of endodontic files?

Why did you agree to go to that concert?
What's next on the agenda, Pitch Perfect 2?

That's thread. I was doing some patch up work.

I know people. They call me up to see if I want tickets. They're usually great seats so I never say "no." If it was Sesame Street Live, my arse would be in the seats.

I've been saying it since they were at Grits. My boys at Blue Oak put out the finest wings around.
Nice weekend Arse but you should have skipped the new kids and came down to Artie's to throw down.

They definitely stand on their own. The heat was nice too.

Last time I had a Crystal Burger I had the same gastric emergency as you...needless to say I will never again eat another one of their shitty bacteria laden burgers.

I honestly wonder if there is a secret supply store somewhere that venues purchase measuring glasses from to screw customers on drinks. I see the bartenders use the shot glass to pour the drink but when I get it I realize there is just no way it is a full ounce. Or are we just spoiled by our regular bartenders hooking us up?
