Went last night for the first time in a few years....I can live with the menus changes but the food wasn't as good as normal....service was great but not the food

We went a few weeks ago and really enjoyed our meal. And this was during the "Prom" rush too. Service was prompt, responsive and not rushed. Food was was pretty tasty. I had the rotisserie chicken, steamed broccoli and roasted corn grits.

Could have just been an "off" night in the kitchen. It happens. But generally speaking, Zea is usually pretty consistent with the quality of their product they put out.

I'm now craving this again.

We hit up Zea once or twice a month, normally for a Saturday lunch. Only once was I not satisfied with the food. I guess every place can have off days. I normally get the bronzed trout or the red beans & rice with sausage and fried chicken, which I think is very tasty. I always get the delicious corn grits and we share the cheesecake for dessert. Lots of posters rave about the Thai ribs at Zea, but I really don't care for them.

I also went last night for the first time in years. I had the Thai ribs with grits and snap beans. I love the grits. The ribs were good also. I really like the sauce on them.

It's on my Top 10 list of favorite BR restaurants. Food and service are consistently top-notch. Thai ribs, Asian almond shrimp, and grits are my go-to's.

Zea is up there with Houston's and J. Alexander's as far as chain consistency is concerned.

I disagree. I'd rank both Houston's and Zea above J. Alexander's.

Breast errr Beast I find Houston's clearly better the the last two. Zea's is good, love their RB&R, but I always have this weird feeling after I eat there. I bet they put tons of flavor enhancers in their food.

I had the Thai ribs, corn grits, and roasted potatoes at the one on Manhattan/ West Bank for lunch earlier this week. I can't remember a lunch that was that good until I had T-Coon's in Laffy the following day, then Northshore Empress the day after that.

Zea's is always consistent and damn good, IMO.
