Going back to the 2007 draft there hasn't been a RB drafted in the 1st round to live up to their potential. Whether that's based on injuries or production That same year AP and Lynch were draft.

1st round picks since 2007
2008
Darren McFadden
Johnathan Stewart
Felix Jones
Rashard Mendenhall (Retired)
Chris Johnson

2009
Knowshon Moreno
Donald Brown
Beanie Wells

2010
CJ Spiller
Ryan Matthews
Jahvid Best (Retired)

2011
Mark Ingram

2012
Trent Richardson
Doug Martin
David Wilson (Retired)

Now let's look at the 2nd and 3rd round picks since 2007

Matt Forte, Ray Rice, LeSean McCoy, Ben Tate, Shane Vereen, DeMarco Murray, Stevan Ridley, Gio Bernard, Le'Veon Bell, Montee Ball (Jury is still out), Eddie Lacy, Knile Davis, Jeremy Hill, Tre Mason, Jerick McKinnon.

I would pounce on Gurley in the first this year

He's an elite talent.

Even Lynch didn't do shite for the team who drafted him.

Not sure you have noticed ,but the game has hanged....Rbs can be found in basically any round to serve the purpose a RB does in the NFL these days................

The problem is not drafting a rb in the first, it's drafting a bad one. If Forte, McCoy, Bell were first rounders, they would have been worth it. Teams need to stop making shitty evaluations.

Lived up to their potential? lol. Like every RB drafted in RD 1 is supposed to be eric dickerson.

The shelf life of an NFL RB is 3.5 years.

2008
Darren McFadden
Johnathan Stewart
Felix Jones
Rashard Mendenhall (Retired)
Chris Johnson

DMC, Stewart, and CJ2K are still around 7 seasons later and all saw another contract or two. DMC and CJ have earned $40m+, Stewart $30m+. Mendenhall has 3 seasons of 900+ yards, a SB ring, and $14m in earnings

Felix jones is a bust. There ya go

quote:

2009
Knowshon Moreno
Donald Brown
Beanie Wells

Moreno and Brown are still in the league, saw another contract, both already earned $14m+

Wells busted

quote:

2010
CJ Spiller
Ryan Matthews
Jahvid Best (Retired)

lol

Spiller and Matthews are still in their prime in the league. Both have multiple good seasons under their belt. Matthews just inked an $11m deal and Spiller a $16m deal

quote:

2011
Mark Ingram

Still in prime, inked for $16m

quote:

2012
Trent Richardson
Doug Martin
David Wilson (Retired)

Richardson and Martin may truly be busts. But they have 3 years in the league? give me a break

TBob hyped this shitty segment this AM like it was the best thing he ever heard. Cant believe they let yall put this shite out to the public
