CapOne does not charge an exchange fee on currency, provided that you have an account. I'm with the OP, I like to have a few euros in my pocket when I step off the plane. I want a coffee immediately, and I don't want to wait in line at an ATM. Now, for the rest of the trip, using your debit card to get more cash is fine.

If you have a later day arrival, the airport ATMs can be empty....or out of service, or 1/2 mile out of your way. A little local money in your pocket can help get your vacay started on the right foot.
