If I lose my grandfathered unlimited plan with the old minutes with rollover plan I have (a scenario where the 2-year contract price is indisputably better than Next), then I would just switch to straight talk. LTE through AT&T towers, $45/month per line, unlimited talk, text, and 3GB of data before throttling.

Considering the same if they knock my wife off her unlimited plan, but have you seen the throttled speed? It's just unbearably, laughably slow.

I've been paying extra to keep my unlimited plan with verizon. It's not about what I'm using right now. It's the unknown about what I'll be using in the future. I could add my line to a shared plan with the other 2 lines on my account, but don't want to lose the unlimited data.
