I'm a big fan of Dives and Mom and Pop places and recently moved my office to hwy 74 and Airline area. I know a lot of the BR places but not this area. Thanks in advance.

If you can put up with he terrible service, Italian Bowl serves very good food in Prairieville.

They are few and far between. I grew up out there and always loathed the dining options available. People tend to go to the same two or three restaurants every time they go out.
It says a lot about your town when the most popular restaurants are typically Cracker Barrel, Outback Steakhouse, Las Palmas, Casa Maria, and Raising Canes.
With Berthelot's gone, there is really nowhere to get decent seafood anymore. Dutch's in Port Vincent is a decent steakhouse with reasonable prices. DeAngelo's is easily the best Italian option around. Frank's is the go-to breakfast joint.
Honestly, even though it's a chain, I think Brew-Bacher's is probably the best dive bar in town.

I really like philays. They have some of the best appetizers (especially the Cajun clusters) and a really good seafood platter.
