Cop threatens to make up charges and admits to defacto quotas

Ultimately the cop thought they were punks but took it easy on them by just writing the driver up for reckless driving, but how is this acceptable behavior for a government employee in a position of power? Also, how do you feel about him saying he has a non-official quota?

that behavior is not acceptable at all...as I see it, they can chew my arse out or write me a ticket...but not both...
as far as the quotas, that is nothing new at all...with the number of officers working every day, they pretty much know how many citations should be issued for a given area...if that doesn't happen, he is probably fricking off....

How is this a bad thing? Cops generate more money keeping taxes lower for those of us who aren't criminals. I'd say this guy is an American hero.

What's hilarious is that as big a scumbag as that cop is, he was a lot calmer and more lenient than a lot of cops would have been. You think those guys would have been grinning and laughing with one of the big corn-fed State Troopers we have in the South?

These guys as a whole are a lot less intelligent than I previously thought. It's going to take them another 15 years to understand cameras are everywhere.

It's not.
All we can do is film them when they abuse their authority and share that video online. If enough people lose trust in police and voice their displeasure, they'll be forced to change.
