So why was batting in a Friday night SEC game in the 11th inning?

I had hears he was fast but didn't know he had Laird speed. I hope you're right. You still bunt him though.

Well that settles it.
The move was called out by the POSTERS.
The ultimate indictment.
The POSTERS called him out. Oh the horrors. Oh the humanity.

Its gotten pretty ridiculous

Yeah I was pretty pissed Friday night but I understand that dropping a series in March isn't the end of the world. Its time for everyone to move on. There really isn't anything left to discuss.

But then again, we already have threads this long of people bitching about our QB situation so I guess this isn't that bad

It's not about dropping the series. Nobody thinks the season is over. It's about making indefensible managerial decisions that cost a game to inferior team. And then this patronizing bullshite he puts out there. Cmon!

He's been hurt. It hasn't been because of lack of talent.

and im not even saying that is the wrong move. I just trying to show there was another option of then it being PM's ego. It's a baseball move ive seen before at all levels.

He didn't read shite. He doesn't know wtf he's talking abou. He's one of the chronic sunshine pumpers that just wants to post silly lol emojis at people who question ridiculous coaching decisions.

At least 10 different Tigers ran the 60-yard dash in less than 7.0 seconds at the team’s scout day this fall, led by blazers Stevenson (6.49), Fraley (6.56) and Laird (6.67), who form perhaps the nation’s fastest outfield. Robertson (6.78), Hale (6.81), Bregman (6.83) and Zardon (6.89) are all average or better runners also, while dynamic freshmen Greg Deichmann (6.63)

splitting hairs on who is faster on a given day, point is, they are in the same range, speed-wise

Hmm... Interesting.. Deich's number I got was from PG, and Laird's was from an Advocate article.

They're both old, but it's the first thing I saw.

Plus he's 72. I'm surprised he can still put on his pants.

I know he's been hurt and I know he's good. Extra innings in an SEC series isn't the time to start bringing freshmen along.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. No one will ever convince me there is any other viable option other than bunting in that situation.

Cub thinks differently, but I really don't think this continues if he doesn't release this statement for lack of a better term. Plenty of people were/are ready to move on. WPC tomorrow. Plenty of things to talk about with ULL. PM threw some gas on the embers.

There's really nothing left to talk about.

technically the pressure isn't that high in that situation. We weren't losing, the game was tied. We're the home team, there are no outs, and he knew we had the top of the lineup coming up.

Though he hit into the dreaded double play, Hale getting a single helps defend the logistics of the move.

He obviously did not. He would still be blindly defending Coach though.

Don't be a hypocrite. You said earlier, people shouldn't use results to defend a decision. And that one is the worst. There's a 34% chance he gets a hit. But what are the odds he gets an RBI with a runner at 3B and the infield in? The odds go way up. You bunt there Lester. Period. We need one run. No more. It's straight forward.

Paul maneiri sucks. He's sucked since 2009. He admitted that he took time off after winning. That is inexcusable.

Yeah I get that, but what is continuing to bitch about it gonna do? We all know Mainieri screwed up, and even he admitted fault for not having Deichmann ready to bunt there. I don't know what else y'all want from him. It's time to move on and hope Mainieri learns from this.
