You don't lose the valuable experience of a Hill, Mett, Landry & Beckham at one time & expect to duplicate that type of success the following year. Stevie Wonder could have seen the offensive production dropping down in 2014 & he hasn't seen anything EVER.

I don't think any of us expected LSU to finish last in the conference in passing.

We went into last season with 2 quarterbacks who had 1 ever start in between them. We had one receiver in Dural who had seen live game action. 2 out of the 3 top rushers in 2014, hadn't taken a hand off in college before last season. This limits an offense passing wise as to what they can do with certain personnel groups because inexperienced backs are liabilities in pass protection. It makes you more predictable in certain down & distances. Please logically explain to me how the writings weren't on the wall for this to happen.

I think the point he's making is that nobody, and in truth, nobody expected such a steep decline in production. Nobody other than Dural had more than one year in the program, so expectations were tempered, but it was a disaster of epic proportions.

That said, 2004 was a clusterfrick on offense, 2005 was a very good year, and 2006 was the best passing game we've ever had short of Josh Reed. There is no reason why a core group of skill players regarded as among the best at their position in their respective recruiting cycles can't mature into that same production over the next two years.

Understandable but with hindsight being 20/20 now, it's easier to look back and determine why things were the way they were this past season. It's something entirely too many fans lack the ability to do & instead go grasping at the straws of stupidity as their choice of "reason". Their irrational way of thinking causes them grossly underestimate the value of continuity & time within the system.

elite modern offenses like OSU, ORE, TCU, Baylor, and ALA who average over 300 YPG passing.

Also you act like all the offenses you listed are doing something new & special when in fact they are only several different concepts from "old" offenses.

The air raid spread used by the majority of the Big XII & Texas A&M, is nothing more than the old school run & shoot from 80s. The only aspects that are different are the pistol formation & read option elements used to freeze outside edge rushers, strong safeties & inside linebackers. Same damn concept with these elements sprinkled in.

What Malzahn runs at Auburn is the same passing wise as the air raid but he adds in the power run aspects of the veer & wishbone. These aren't any new innovative offensive concepts. It's just a bunch of old stuff combined together to look "modern". Same thing goes for the offenses Urban Meyer has run over the years.

You know if AJ starts and plays most of this year, he WILL start as a senior in 2016. You really think he'll put up Jamarcus Russell numbers? QB potential is night and day.

Better to throw them now then on the road at Alabama in November. They video tape every practice & scrimmage so this gives Cam the opportunity to correct the improper read that Harris made in the film room.

I know this is the Rant & people will harp on the interception but don't overlook the fact that the coaches & players have been discussing new defensive looks upfront. These adjustments are doing just what they are supposed to do. Cause confusion & cloud up a quarterbacks judgements, leading to mistakes like interceptions & sacks.

Look man, I'm pulling for Harris to win out over Jennings because of Brandon's physical gifts but give it damn break already. frick.

I'm not counting on that from Jennings, who was never anything but a bridge guy. Harris has been with Dupree, Quinn, and Fournette just as long as Jennings has. That's your money lineup for 2016.

I look forward to gauging the mood on this board when Jennings starts the opener and Miles gradually transitions to Harris for our competitive games in November.

Competitive games come early this year. Need them both to be ready to go.

Bad choice of words. Let's say..... daunting games starting November.

Auburn and Mississippi State have a lot of holes to fill in fall practice if they're going to make it two in a row against us that early in the season. It's a pretty straightforward role reversal for both matchups.

So if the majority of the males on this board decided to have a sex change, would you just kiss your dick & balls goodbye because you know its the Rant, right?

Do you tell this to your wife concerning your pissing in the bed or premature ejaculation problems? Because you definitely sound like a 10 year old with all your constant whining.

I didn't know it would make you so mad. Why whine about me whining?

I don't think I've ever seen less sense made. It's a message board and people debate and even complain from time to time because they have thoughts. Not because other people do it, dumbarse

Miles will play the Quarterback who makes the least mistakes. Rants don't understand this. Harris has a lot to practice and if he can grasp the play book and play within the system he will play if not he want start. It's as simple as that it don't matter that he has the stronger arm and can run faster. Some guys just don't pan out in college. It's that simple
