I love Louisiana because it's home. But for the love of God, it ranks poorly in every major category for a reason. Maybe make the state as a whole better before worrying about which half is less shitty.
Meh, I don't think New Orleans is really looked down upon.

It's generally looked upon as a fun place to visit and get drunk by most people outside Louisiana. There's a reason Bourbon is a tourist trap...because that's all most people outside Louisiana think New Orleans is.
It sucks, but Louisiana is very disrespected across the country for a multitude of reasons, many of which are hard to argue. And no one outside the state gives a crap about north v. south LA
