hmm ive had them 4 or 5 times this season and i thought they were great.
had tonys today and they have way too much seasoning on the outside of the crawfish. hands and lips were burning just from peeling them and sucking the heads

Do they put gravy on it or is it good bread?

Yes. Cool younger guys from BR who cook some damn good crawfish.
One of them was a lefty pitcher @ LSU a few years back before he got hurt
I know their dad too, he sells crawfish from his house off Old Jefferson
Good people

Had some from Capital City Crawfish yesterday. Very small and lips still burning. Not sure what they use for seasoning. Not much flavor.
I feel the opposite. I went to Tony's yesterday and I found that they were so boring tasting. And covered in seasoning on the outside. My hands looked like I dipped them in a shaker of seasoning. They were spicy, but zero flavor.
CCC has been so flavorful each time. The only advantage Tony's has is that they were much bigger than CCC has been for me.
Tony's were really lacking fat. But that's probably more related to time of year or crawfish themselves than who cooks them.

Has anyone tried the place on Burbank (Al Lorio I think). I've had good experience buying live from him, don't remember him offering boiled in the past. ive done side by side between Sammy's and LA Boilers (Perkins) several times over the years and they've usually been very close (and good). Tony's has always been consistent and on the cheaper end, but generally smaller in my experience.

Where at on Old Jefferson? Need some for this Sunday for wifes birthday and that would be pretty convenient.

We got some from CCC last weekend. I found the flavor was pretty good. Nice bit of spice too. Only problem was that they were pretty mushy. Couldn't eat a good portion of them. I'll chalk it up to it being early in the season. Hard to pass up being that close to my house.

Literally right on the BR side of Manchac Bayou, he usually has a sign out on the road.
His name is Blake Hopkins

This is the only problem I've had with CCC. I really have to choose which I prefer -- large and sturdier but not as fatty or flavorful from Tony's vs. smaller and mushy, but extremely fatty and flavorful from CCC.
For me, mushy wins. That fat
