Also, how do you defend a player getting hurt while participating in team activities, losing his scholarship, and being forced to pay their own medical bills while being kicked out of the school?
There are many examples of that.
In Louisiana of all places, you are required to keep insurance on your athletes.

They don't lose scholarships
They are yearly things. If hurt sure they aren't "athletic" but they never get it pulled.
People are dumb when it comes to athletics scholarships.
