Generation Y came after Generation X. Generation Y covers people born between the 1980's and the year 2000, and these individuals are sometimes referred to as Gen Y, the Millennial Generation, or simply Millennials.

I believe it was a baby boomer that invented the Internet.
His name was Al Gore

There is always some excuse, eh? Always.

Or who is responsible for the current state of the Country.

Gen Y is a millennial. 1980 is roughly the start of millennials. You probably get to choose.

Graduated HS in '96 and spent 7 years in the Navy before starting college in '03. Soon after starting college I realized that not only was I just older than the kids around me, they were of a different generation (as in, these kids weren't even close to being 18 year old versions of myself). One problem: They had cell phones from their entire adolescence onward and were never in a situation where they couldn't call for help.
One time a had a mechanical engineering student in a diff-eq class with me. He came in on a Tuesday AM class complaining that his toilet broke on Friday with unflushed business in the toilet, and that his whole apartment had now stunk. He had submitted the work request with his apartment complex, but maintenance had not stopped by to look at it yet.
I said I'd come look at it so I stopped by his apartment after class. Popped the lid off the tank and the only thing wrong with the toilet was the chain between the handle and the flushing valve had broken. All I had to do pull the half of the chain that was still attached to the flushing valve and flush it manually.
This was a mechanical engineering student. Anybody who has the desire to be a mechanical engineer should have a desire to attempt to figure out a toilet before letting your apartment reek for 30 minutes, let alone a whole weekend. Anyone over the age of 18 and pursuing engineering should have the intellectual curiosity to figure out how everything works in their house. But the problem is some of these kids were just never raised that thinking and doing for yourself was even an option....

While adhd does exist, it's extremely overdiagnosed. Shitty dysfunctional home environments lead to children acting out and eventually the parents who don't know how to parent bring their complaints to a professional.
That said, adderal works for everyone whether you have adhd or not. It's an intellectual PED.

So now they are responsible for how lazy and sorry millenials are? Sounds like another excuse for not getting up off the couch. But hey, gotta blame someone when they don't get things handed to them, right? Perfect example, my nephew who recently graduated (with a master's, no less) who is unemployed (25 yrs old) and won't take any thing less than a management type job. Because why, you ask? Well, his excuse is I have all of this education so I don't have to start at the bottom. But, someone else is to blame, right?

This is more the exception than the rule in my experience.

Blame is being thrown around from all directions, not just from millenials.

He is right if he can get the better job. Do you know how much they pay at the bottom these days? It ain't much. Taking an entry level job might even cost him money in the absolute sense. It will definitely cost him in the relative sense.
If he can hold out and get the better job, why wouldn't he?

Spoken like a true millennial

I mean there is obviously a threshold, after which point he needs to explore other options. But what some view as time wasted not working, others might view as time invested looking for a job that is worth a damn.

And you can determine this from two posts. Don't worry DAZ, I work harder than 90% of the people on this board. Have a good one, buddy.

Why the frick wpuld I want to weld?? I make enough money to be able to pay someone to weld a giant vibrating dildo made of changed tires and outlets to my car so I can drive it into your gaping vagina
Most welding jobs I know of (either with Caterpillar or Caterpillar dealers) make between $50-$60K on the low end (guys just getting started) and they can bump or even pass $100K on the high end.

I know some welders making $100k a year.
They work 90 hours a week though.

Except ADD and anxiety are real problems. They are a recent phenomenon of modern society where we are now expected to sit for hours on end with our attention focused on one single thing. People didn't do that until a hundred years ago or so.
Students have been sitting in classrooms a lot longer than just the past 100 years.
