Got a buddy that just came into 500K? Not enough to retire on, but for sure make life easier.

Still hoping there's a long lost uncle out there with a size-able estate and a desire to single me out.

Enough to do something with, not enough to do nothing with.

My parents have always told us to not expect any money because they plan to spend it all

We will get to split up the property, but I'm not expecting any money

Now my wife's filthy rich uncle who has no kids and treats my wife and her siblings like his kids...

I don't think I will ever inherit any either. My parents will spend what they have. They aren't rich but have saved well enough to sustain a decent lifestyle in retirement. Won't be anything left over though. No problem with that - they provided for me well enough when I was a dependent and they should spend their money on themselves from here on out.

$12K from a grandparent. Both of my parents are still living and if they have the same lifespan as their parents then I won't see a dime until I'm in my 70's. I have the rich uncle with no kids and I'm in his will but he is even younger than my parents are, so I'm not counting on any inheritance to help me out along the way.

My moms parents are the only ones who have passed. They were dirt poor. My mom got their roach infested house in Haleyville,AL.

My dads parents are still alive and I'll be interested to see what they leave. I imagine they have less than 20k in their checking account but I have personally helped my grandfather bury BAGS of silver and gold on family land. He also has over 20 safety deposit boxes filled with gold and silver. No idea what it could be worth.

My parents are very well off but have already sat us all down and said we are getting 100k each and the rest is going to charity and grandkids college fund. Dad is a firm believer in making your own way. I think he will change his mind as he gets older but I'm fine with it regardless. It isn't my money.

$0. I hope it stays that way. I hope my Dad dies holding on to his last dollar bill. He earned that money, and the values and discipline he instilled in me is worth more than any inheritance he could leaves.

I told my parents to spend it like it's stolen.

My parents were blue collar workers, so they had no money to leave us. We did sell the house I grew up in for $26K (yes, $26K), and myself and my siblings split that.

20K. My parents were poor. But I took the 20K and combined it with 30K in savings to buy lakefront property.

Now, I live there.
