Hm, I dunno, maybe context (slavery, Jim Crow, burning and hanging, white terrorism, systematic impoverishment and second class citizenship, continual discrimination, black antiprivilege)?
But I'm sure the contemporary persecution of the white man is "basically the same".

Question for the attorneys:
According to Volokh Conspiracy, the students' expulsion from the University is a clear violation of First Amendment and Due Process rights. Could these students, and possibly SAE, sue the University for defamation and possibly win an award?
