Tried the green beans and Mac and cheese from Chicken Shack today...but didn't get any chicken (I was taken to lunch by a bunch of Catholics, lol). How's the chicken? The Mac and bean sides I ate were quite good.

Pretty sure the pope said a fried pork chop doesn't count as meat.

I hadn't had any Chicken Shack for probably 15 years till yesterday. Greens and dirty rice were pretty good. Chicken was greasy, but tasty. However...

Man it was slow. Got there about 12:50. Restaurant was full of people waiting for their orders. Took about 25 minutes for me to walk out of there with my order. How long does it take to plop already cooked chicken and sides in a box?

The green beans didn't have bacon in them or does that not count? I don't know 'cause I've never been there, but it seems like the kind of place where they would have green beans with bacon.

The chicken is excellent. The stewed okra, shrimp, tomato and sausage is one of my favorite things ever. Succotash also very good. Sorry to say -- those green beans probably had more meat than a chicken wing in them!

Ate here for lunch the other day and the chicken was excellent. But man I was looking for a nap about an hour later.

It is my personal favorite fried chicken in the city, better than Stockyard Cafe and State Police Cafeteria and the others.
